Icebergs and Goodbyes
So long, St. John's! Chris and I are off to Vancouver for the year, leaving with mixed emotions (mostly excitement peppered with some sadness). We miss our family and friends already and we are definitely going to miss the breathtaking scenery of our home province. As we part ways, we'll leave you with this picture perfect iceberg we found just off the coast of Cape Spear. Neat trivia: Since Cape Spear is the most easterly point of North America, while shooting this video WE were the most eastern people on the continent!
If you are wondering why we are headed to the wild, wild west, it's all Chris' fault. He passed his Canadian board exams (and is now a bonafide radiologist!) and he's chosen to complete a one year fellowship in interventional radiology, which he's doing in Vancouver. Of course, like a good common law spouse, I decided to go along for the ride. The nice thing about my job is that it allows me to work remotely. I will be keeping the majority of my clients and working from my 4' x 7' closet office in the new apartment (we will be posting a full apartment tour along with our before and afters on the blog).
We sent our car off last week on a container ship from the Port of St. John's, and then yesterday we flew to Montreal to meet it. We drove to Ottawa last night and today we will hit the road, officially kicking off our long-ass drive across the country. It's going to take approximately 43 hours of driving, spread over roughly five or so days (before you get out your calculators, 43 ÷ 5 = 8.6). ROAD TRIP!
Our new apartment is only 560 square feet, and we have some exciting projects in the works that we can't wait to share with you. For now, I will leave you with a sneak peak of our tiny west coast home.
We will be posting our entire trip on our YouTube channel along with all of our West Coast adventures, so make sure you subscribe. If you want to watch us live, you can follow us on snapchat @doleboy and @beckipeckham, or keep an eye on our Instagram account @theuncommonlaw.
