Master Half Bath Before and After

Oh the 80's, that awkward era where the ensuite was just becoming popular but before the introduction of a full bath. I shouldn't complain though; it's better than nothing at all. You have probably seen a sneak peek of this bathroom in our master bedroom before and after. Not quite sure how we managed to miss posting this, but better late than never.

As we mentioned in our progress post, the bathroom was old and the vanity was WAY too big for the space. We tore it all out, scraped the dreaded stucco off the ceiling, painted, and replaced the fixtures with newer ones. All on a tight budget.

We weren't sure if this bathroom was going to stay. We were tinkering with the idea of tearing out the wall between this bathroom and our full bath, making one large one, but we've since decided to leave both as is. We installed vinyl stick down tile on the floor, which only cost us about $25, however down the road we may end up putting tile down. We will see how it holds up.

The vanity sink is quite small, but perfect for brushing teeth and makes the room feel much larger. The lack of countertop space also keeps us from cluttering up the bathroom.

The wall needed something, so we chose an abstract photo Chris shot on a trip to NYC for the space. The print brings in a nice splash of yellow tying it in to the bedroom.

We picked up a really inexpensive towel bar and toilet paper holder from Kent. It was something like $7.99? The charcoal grey hand towels are from Winners.
