We're Excited for 2017
Happy New Year friends! Hope everyone had a safe and happy holiday. The start of a new year always brings so much motivation, and it’s no different for us! We were getting ready to start 2017 off with a BANG... but then we both caught that nasty cold that's been going around, which basically kept us in bed for the better part of the week. We're on the mend and making some changes around here to bring you guys more content every week! We want to share with you some of our exciting projects coming up in 2017.
1. More videos
If you guys don’t follow us on YouTube yet you should pop over and subscribe. This year we have decided to put lots efforts in to making movies. We already do a weekly vlog which goes live every Sunday, but we will also be trying to post an additional video every week along with some Facebook specific videos. And while we are on the topic, we plan to do one Facebook live per month, so if there's something you would like to see, let us know in the comments section at the end of this post.
2. More blog posts
We’re super organized and have all sorts of ideas on new content in the form of new blog posts for you guys. We will be amping up to two blog posts a week! We also have a new website in the works which should be live by the end of the month.
3. Make the most of Vancouver
We only have six months left in our placement in Vancouver; time is flying! We have mapped out our remaining weekends on an Air Canada napkin and plan to make the very most of our remaining time by filling our weekends with adventures and documenting them both here and on our YouTube channel. Some things we have planned so far are trips to Hawaii, Tofino, and the Oregon coast, along with some ski trips to Whistler and Grouse mountian. We're also going to try to explore parts of the city we haven't been.
4. Move back to Newfoundland
We have had a few peeps ask what our plans were after Vancouver, well, we’re moving back to The Rock in August! We have a few little things left to finish on our house in St. John’s, like re-doing the siding on our house, renovating our workshop, and updating our master bedroom. Then we will be working on our next major project which is...
5. Build a cabin
We have multiple applications submitted to (hopefully) acquire some crown land in the middle of nowhere Newfoundland, where we plan on building a super modern, tiny waterfront cabin in the woods. We will be documenting this entire project on our YouTube channel as well as any DIY projects and progress here on our blog. It will be like old times, like our first reno, but in the woods… with potentially no power... or Internet. We are SOO excited. We hope to get this started next fall if everything works out, but these projects always take longer than anticipated. So if we get started in 2017 we'll be ecstatic! More details to come.
So those are our big picture goals and milestones we want to hit this year. We have some very specific goals, like hitting 5000 YouTube subscribers by June, and getting 40,000 monthly page views here on the blog, so if you want to help us out subscribe to our channel, sign up for blog updates, and share our stuff if you like it!
