Getting Ready Room Before and After
The closets in our home aren't really big enough for our combined wardrobe, so we decided to convert one of our spare bedrooms to a walk-in closet which we call the "getting ready" room. Having a room dedicated to a closet is actually quite nice. It keeps clothing and clutter our of your main bedroom and when one person has to get up earlier than the other for work, they can just go to the other room to get ready with out disturbing the other's sleep.
This makeover should have been a quick weekend project, but it turned into a stressful nightmare when we tore up the old laminate flooring and found a puddle of water on the subfloor tracking up the wall. After a bit of digging (read: removing a bunch of drywall and insulation) we found a hole in the side of our house, which could be traced back to a botched roof job by a fraudulent contractor. But that's a post for another time. The leak pushed back our project about two months, but it's all fixed up properly and the room is back together. Here is the before and after!
