Our Favourite Paint Colors
We get asked a lot about what paint colors we use, so here is a list of our go-to’s!
first
We typically use Benjamin Moore Regal Select in matte finish. We picked this particular finish because it’s really matte, but it is also wipeable meaning if you get a mark on your walls you can wipe it with a clean, damp sponge and not ruin the finish.
Matte paint can be a little tricky but it looks so good especially with white walls. Recently we tried out Backdrop Paint (not sponsored) in their standard finish which is pretty matte and found it has a really nice finish. We’re going to be trying this brand again in a different color to see how it looks. Also, the can is AMAZING!
Colors
Decorators White
First up is our go to white, Decorator’s White (CC-20) by Benjamin Moore. We LOVE this white because it’s a crisp, cool white without a warm or pink tint. Here’s a tip, if you are painting your entire space white, do your trim, ceiling, walls and doors in the same color and you don’t have to worry about cutting in. PAINTING HACK! Moving on…
Cloud White
If you want white, but you don’t want TOO white, then Cloud White (OC-130) by Benjamin Moore is a nice choice. It’s on the warmer side and has a slight cream cast, but again if you paint your trim the same color it looks fantastic.
Gray
Gray (2121-10) by Benjamin Moore is one of my fav colors EVER (which is why we painted most of our first house in this color). It’s dark, but much softer than black and takes on slightly different tones as the light changes. Love this for a cozy living room or bedroom and it’s SO GOOD in a matte finish.
Black
If you guys follow our YouTube channel you know we love a good black wall. Some might think painting walls black makes a space feel dark and dull but it can be quite dramatic! Black (2132-10) by Benjamin Moore is our go to black. Black walls in matte look AMAZING but it does show scuffs more than white does.
Supermoon
This white just got added to the list after I saw this company on Instagram and fell in love with the packaging. It’s called Supermoon by Backdrop, it’s a pure bright white and I used it in their standard finish which is pretty matte! No photos of our space with this color yet but you can watch our unboxing and review here:
