Two Weeks, Two FULL Camera Bags - Everything We Used To Shoot MAUZY

If you follow us anywhere online you know that we haven’t shut up about our two week photo roadtrip across the island of Newfoundland, our documentary MAUZY, and our photo book LOL. We had two goals, 1: Make our longest piece of video content for our channel, 2: Shoot enough images for a photography book in just two weeks. Spoiler, we did it! In today’s post we’re outlining everything in our camera bags to make the book and doc happen!

Note: You do not need this amount/this specific brand of gear to pull off a project like this. We had it, so we brought everything since both of us were shooting.

You can find the full camera bag tour and shenanigans, plus some of our favourite images from the trip in the video below.

The Kit

We’re going to keep things short and breif, more info can be found in our video.

Bags and Cases

Bags pretty much stay the same for us for most trips (especially if we are carrying a lot). Chris was rocking the PM X Nomatic 35L Travel Camera bag, and I had the PM X Nomatic Everyday Camera bag.

Cameras and Lenses

We shot our entire video on the Sony A7S3, and photos were shot on the Sony A7R4 & A74. Lenses were interchangeable, we used them for both photos and videos.

memory cards for these cameras:

SanDisk Extreme 64GB Micro SD for GoPro

Filters for these cameras:

Rode Video Micro

Deity D4 Duo

It’s really important for us to have redundancy in the kit, not only with camera bodies but with mics as well. Both of these do not require a battery and are powered by the camera.

Drones and FPV

We did what we tell people never to do; bring camera equipment on an important trip without getting to know it first! It all worked out though. We added a new commercial drone to the kit for this trip and Chris also brought along his trusty FPV drone. He did a full post on all of the gear he uses to build drones which you can find here.

Despite being prepared with all of this, our sensors got filthy and we didn’t clean them on the fly. We also lost a button on the top of our A7S3 and the eye cup on our A7R4.
