How We Push Our Gear to the Limits
and Bring New Ideas to Life
We have a passion for teaching photography and video through tutorials and gear reviews on our YouTube channel. However, we believe that putting our gear to the test through conceptual series gives us more experience with our equipment and allows us to provide authentic recommendations to our audience.
We understand that creating content consistently is key to learning new things about filmmaking. While we enjoy making vlogs, our larger projects challenge our skills from both a concept development and technical standpoint. We take immense satisfaction in creating unique projects from scratch for our audience to enjoy, then building entire campaigns around them as we used to do back in our marketing agency days.
Cold Island 2019
Our journey into series creation started with the 6-part helicopter travel series Cold Island, where we documented a rugged and remote trip from Buffalo, NY to Newfoundland, Canada. We explored coastlines and towns we had never visited before and experienced off-airport landings on gorge tops, epic helipads, we even camped on the side of a cliff in the fog. The trip gave us a newfound appreciation for the outdoors and our home province.
From there, we were bitten by the adventure bug and in 2021, produced our second helicopter travel series, Heading: EAST | New England, which led to an entire brand of series for us.
The 5-episode series documented our trip to explore rural and international airports in Vermont, Maine, and New Hampshire from the air and on the ground. The entire series was paired with an additional 8 videos which included set-builds, tutorials around how we planned the series, a podcast, and a detailed look into what camera equipment we brought to document the trip.
We had so much fun producing these series that we decided to make it a regular thing. In May 2022, we embarked on our first feature-length documentary-style film called MAUZY - From Pixels to Paper. We documented a 14-day photography road trip across the island of Newfoundland, Canada, with the goal of creating a coffee table book from the images we captured. Mission accomplished! By September of 2022, we had released our film, behind-the-scenes videos, and book on YouTube.
During the production of MAUZY, we snuck in one more trip that completed our third helicopter travel series we called Heading: NORTH | Canadian Wilderness. The series was a more relaxed and slow-paced exploration of remote islands in the Georgian Bay area, featuring camping and stunning scenery.
Now, we're excited to announce our most ambitious project yet - Heading: WEST | Journey to Overhaul. In the summer of 2023, we'll fly the Millennial Falcon over 2,000 nautical miles across the country to the Robinson Helicopter Factory in Torrence, California! Stay tuned for our fourth series!
