Disclosure: Some of the items in this post were gifted, all thoughts are our own. This post also contains affiliate links. By purchasing through our affiliate links, you are directly supporting our blog and us as creators! So thank you!
The holidays are around the corner and, quite honestly, this year has been shit LOL. We thought we would put together a list of 11 things we love and use all the time in hopes that it gives you some easy but dope gift ideas for your loved ones (or yourself because, let’s be honest, we all deserve a little treat every now and then). This list is a mix of lifestyle, travel, and camera stuff - a little something for everyone!
While I have included a number of links in this post due to the variety of locations you guys are in, you might be able to find these items locally! We suggest checking with your local shops to see if they carry any of these things before shopping online. It’s been a hard year; let’s do our best to support local businesses!
$0-50
A Winter Candle
Listen, this isn’t a “here’s a scented candle I just found” gift, this is a curated moment and a room accessory! It’s a gift of delicious smells. Over this shit year I have really come to appreciate candles, room/linen sprays, and even an essential oil diffuser JUST for the fact that they make my house smell amazing!
Here are a few of my faves:
Catskills Escapist Candle - Brooklyn Candle Studio - $38.00
Leather and Embers - Target - $11.99
Hard Cover Coffee Table Book
Big fan of coffee table books over here! I love the Cabin Porn books, or really any modern design, architecture, nordic cabin book around.
Reusable Water Bottle
While we’re shopping local, let’s do something for the environment too! We love having a cute but functional go-to water bottles at the ready for any adventure! We love the Hydro Flask, but have also been a fan of the S’well bottles too!
Hydro Flask Water Bottle - $26
S’well White Birch Bottle - $33
$50-100
Banner or Pennant
We get a lot of questions about a banner you might see hanging in our videos that says “You’ll think of something”. That’s made by a local Buffalo company called Oxford Pennant and WE LOVE! We just rolled out with our own line of “You Are Deadly” pennants as well, they look great hanging in the office.
“You’ll Think Of Something” Banner - Oxford Pennant - $50
Peak Design Strap
For the camera lover in your life, the Peak Design strap is one of my favorites! Also the capture clip, both of those together make a rad combo.
Brüush Electric Toothbrush
Shout out to fellow heli pilot Brad Friesen who hooked Chris and I up with these about a year or two ago. We love a good electric toothbrush and these come in matte black, so like… obviously had to have that one.
Brüush Electric Toothbrush - $95
$100-500
Glerups
I get a lot of questions about my slippers. I am not even joking when I say these are probably my most loved piece of apparel. I don’t usually take them for airline travel but in the Heli? YES. Roadtrip? HELL YES! Camping? I don’t do a lot of that but when I have, YES! If you decide to pick these up, let me note that the rubber bottoms are awesome because they are easy to wipe clean!
Moment iPhone case and Wide Lens
I always have a Moment case on my phone. ALWAYS! And I usually have the wide lens in my fanny pack. Great for the mobile photographer just make sure you know what phone they use before getting the case.
Blundstone Boots
If you told me I could only have one piece of outdoor footwear, I would choose these! I wear the womens 558’s in Black, and Chris wears the men’s 587’s in Rustic Black. LOVE these boots!
Nomatic 40L Duffel Bag
Hands down my go-to weekend travel bag, but also I went for a week and a half in this bag during our Cold Island trip!
Polar Pro X Peter McKinnon Variable ND
Best. ND Filter. EVER! Polar Pro sent me their original PMVND filters when they got released and they quickly became my favourite filters simply for the fact that they didn’t give that nasty “X” that some other filters give. Quality is amazing, packaging is cool, if you can only afford one but have a number of lenses buy the biggest one and get step down rings for your glass! But you will want more, I know it.
Polar Pro 77mm 2-5 Stop PMVND - $249.99
Polar Pro 77mm 6-9 Stop PMVND - $299
So there you go, 11 of our favourite things. Things we love and use on the daily! If you want to watch the video version of this post you can see it here:
Hope you all have a safe and happy holiday!
