Our New House
Here it is!
Our 1980's side-split in all of its 80's glory. Extremely clean and well kept inside; a little over grown outside but definitely a great home with lots of potential.
We bought the house with the intention of doing some renovations. The price was below our budget, which allows us to make some changes if we do the work ourselves. The kitchen and bathrooms all need updating, the whole place needs a paint job and the stucco has to go! Here are the before photos - this is the way we saw it when we viewed the house for the first time.
Kitchen & Dining Room
There's a redundant set of stairs leading from the family room up to the kitchen so we decided that we would remove this set to make more room in the kitchen. The kitchen cabinets are in good condition so we plan to reuse them in the laundry room.
Living Room & Stairs Before
The only light source in the living room is a lamp on a switched outlet. We plan to to add recessed lights and some feature lighting around the perimeter of the room. This will be our main media/TV area.
Family Room & Guest Half Bathroom Before
Since we are moving our photography and graphic design business to our home, our plan for this "family room" is to turn it in to a production room for printing and using as a general work space. After all, we need a place to house Lafawnda, our wide format photo printer!
Basement and Laundry Room Before
The layout of the basement is not ideal, so we plan on taking down the walls and reworking the basement for a better functioning space.
Upstairs Bedrooms and Bathrooms Before
The bedrooms won't need a whole lot of work; new ceilings and a coat of paint on the walls should do the trick here. The bathrooms on the other hand are extremely dated and will both have to be gutted.
